'Exoskeletons' a series of one of a kind linear sculptures that extend, encase, rest upon and surround the body creating a new human architecture.
Inspired by nature and it's inherent strength and fragility. The series reflects on research into Japanese bamboo basketry, shells, architecture and evolution. When combined with the body these wearable sculptures alter the silhouette to create theatrical hybrids.
Photographed by Katie Hutchings and worn by dancer Yasmin McCullough. This collaboration captures the beauty of these forms in movement, light and shadow.
These large scale pieces are painstakingly hand crafted using Beech bendywood and SWAROVSKI.
